LX-200 Flex Leveller
LX-200 Flex Leveller is a flexible, protein-free floor leveller designed for interior use from feather edge up to 5mm, or 5-20mm with aggregate. The compound is modified by polymer for increased flexibility, making it perfect for smoothing floors to a feather edge or for deeper applications when bulked out with 3mm granite chippings.
It can be used over a variety of substrates including concrete, cement and sand screeds, terrazzo, asphalt, quarry tiles, and heated screeds. It can be walked on in as little as 3 hours and is ideal for use with underfloor heating systems.
APPLICATIONS
LX-200 Flex Leveller is suitable for:
- Interior floor levelling in dry areas (feather edge up to 5mm neat or 5-20mm with 3mm granite chippings)
- Underfloor heated screeds (after commissioning, heating off 48 hours before/after)
- Electric undertile heating (ideal for encapsulating cables)
- Preparing floors for ceramic tiles, natural stone, carpet, LVT and sheet vinyl
- Flexible levelling projects requiring slight movement accommodation
- Smoothing concrete and screed substrates
- Levelling uneven timber floors (soft floor finishes only, requires plywood overlay)
Note: Not suitable for wet areas, power showers, swimming pools or exterior applications.
SUITABLE SUBSTRATES
LX-200 can be applied to:
- Cement:sand screeds and concrete surfaces (prime with SBR Universal Bonding Agent diluted 1:4 or Multi-Purpose Primer diluted 1:1)
- Cement:sand screed with existing underfloor heating (after commissioning, prime with SBR Universal Bonding Agent diluted 1:4)
- Existing unglazed ceramic tiles, quarry tiles, terrazzo and natural stone (firmly bonded)
- Internal flooring grade asphalt (up to 6mm maximum thickness, no priming required)
- Uneven timber floors for soft floor finishes (requires 3 hours drying then 6-12mm plywood overlay)
- Old ceramic tile adhesive residues (remove excess, no priming required)
Note: Priming requirements vary by substrate – refer to datasheet for specific priming instructions.
Coverage
A 20kg bag of LX-200 Flex Leveller covers approximately 4m² at 3mm thickness. The coverage rate is approximately 1.7kg per mm/m². For example, a 20kg bag covers approximately 2.4m² at 5mm depth. When bulking out with granite chippings for thicknesses between 5-20mm, use equal volumes of single-sized 3mm granite chippings. Coverage depends on substrate flatness and application depth.

FAQs.
1: When should I choose LX-200 over other Dunlop levellers?
LX-200 is the ideal choice when you need flexibility in your levelling compound and/or a feather edge finish. Its 0-20mm depth range makes it perfect for areas that transition between different levels, and its built-in flexibility accommodates slight substrate movement. Choose LX-200 for overlaying timber floors, areas with underfloor heating, or any application where slight substrate movement may occur.
2: How does LX-200 compare to LX-40 and LX-360?
- LX-40: Standard leveller for basic applications (2-12mm)
- LX-200: Mid-range flexible option with feather edge capability (0-20mm)
- LX-360: Deep fill with fibre reinforcement for maximum strength (3-60mm)
All three offer 25 N/mm² compressive strength, 4-hour tile time, and 24-hour drying for resilient flooring.
3: How much LX-200 will I need for my project?
As a guide, 1.7kg of LX-200 will cover 1m² at 1mm depth. For a typical room of 12.5m² at 5mm depth, you would need approximately 6 bags.
You can use this simple formula to calculate your specific needs:
Bags needed = (1.7 × Depth in mm × Area in m²) ÷ 20
Then round up the answer gives you the bags needed.
It’s always best to buy a little extra to account for uneven surfaces and any wastage.
4: What surfaces can LX-200 be applied to?
- Concrete and cement:sand screeds
- Existing unglazed ceramic tiles, terrazzo, and natural stone
- Sound tile adhesive residues
- Uneven timber floors
- Asphalt (flooring grade)
Its versatility means you can use one product across multiple substrates on the same job, saving time and reducing the need to stock multiple specialist products.
