LX-500E Exterior Leveller is a fast-setting, high-strength concrete resurfacing and external levelling compound, with a depth range of 2–20 mm. This polymer-modified cementitious compound is classified as CT-C35-F7 and delivers exceptional compressive strength of 35 N/mm², making it significantly stronger than standard levellers.

It’s ideal for garage floors, carports, workshops, paths and driveways, where a rapid return to service is required. With foot traffic possible after just two to three hours and light rubber-wheeled traffic after 48 hours, LX-500E can help minimise project downtime and accelerate workflow.

APPLICATIONS

LX-500E Exterior Leveller is suitable for:

External concrete surfaces, including paths, driveways, and walkways (minimum 10mm thickness)
Garage floors, carports and workshops
Internal dry concrete floor levelling (2-20mm depth)
Resurfacing damaged concrete floors
Filling holes in concrete surfaces
Pre-smoothing concrete floors prior to damp proof membrane application
Areas requiring rapid turnaround (foot traffic after 2 hours)
Surfaces requiring non-slip broom finish

Note: Not suitable over underfloor heating, or areas subject to intensive heavy loading without an appropriate epoxy primer. May be unsuitable for aged or frost-damaged concrete subject to regular deflection from thermal cycling or mechanical loading.

SUITABLE SUBSTRATES & PREPARATION

LX-500E can be applied to:

Mature concrete surfaces (at least 6 weeks old) – must be mechanically prepared by scabbling, grinding or shotblasting
Bonded cement/sand screed (>30N/mm² compressive and 1.5N/mm² pull off)
Areas subjected to regular rubber wheeled traffic or heavy loading (use solvent free epoxy primer with sand blinding)

Critical Preparation Requirements:

Surface must be hard, sound, thoroughly cleaned, free of oil, grease, curing compounds and all barriers to adhesion
Mechanical preparation essential – surface must show clean sound concrete with exposed aggregate
Use a suitable degreaser for oil/grease removal, rinse well before mechanical preparation
Vacuum clean prepared surface, ideally wash with high-pressure water jet
Structural, movement or live joints must be carried through to surface
For internal dry use: prime with MULTI-PURPOSE PRIMER diluted 1:1 or SBR UNIVERSAL BONDING AGENT diluted 1:4, allow to dry
For external use: dampen with clean water, apply LX-500E whilst surface is still damp

Coverage

A 20kg bag of LX-500E Exterior Leveller covers approximately 2.3m² at 5mm thickness. The coverage rate is approximately 1.76kg per mm/m². For example, a 20kg bag covers approximately 5.7m² at 2mm depth, or 1.1m² at 10mm depth. For external paths or walkways, a minimum thickness of 10mm should be applied. The maximum combined thickness of multiple layers should not exceed 20mm. Coverage depends on substrate condition and application depth.
