FAQs.
1. What makes CF-03 different from other tile adhesives?
CF-03 is a fast setting, flexible adhesive that allows you to grout in as little as 3 hours, helping you to complete jobs faster. Unlike standard adhesives, it has built-in flexibility to accommodate slight movement in substrates, making it ideal for a wide range of demanding installations, both indoors and outdoors.
2. What surfaces can I use CF-03 on?
CF-03 can be used on most surfaces including concrete, cement:sand screeds, plaster/plasterboard, existing tiles, tile backer boards, and even tongue and groove floorboards when used with the Dunlop ProCover Uncoupling Mat. It’s suitable for underfloor heating and can be used in wet areas such as showers and swimming pools.
3. How do I prepare my surface before using CF-03?
For cement-based surfaces, ensure they’re clean and free from dust, then prime porous areas with Dunlop Multi-Purpose Primer (diluted 1:1 with water). For plaster walls, prime with undiluted Dunlop Multi-Purpose Primer. For timber floors, use Dunlop ProCover Uncoupling Mat after priming with Dunlop SBR Universal Bonding Agent. Shower areas should be waterproofed first with the Dunlop Shower Waterproofing Kit.
4. What tile types can I use with CF-03?
CF-03 works with most tile types including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone (including water-sensitive stone when using the white version) and mosaic. Its flexible nature makes it particularly suitable for large format tiles and areas subject to temperature fluctuations.
5. How much CF-03 will I need for my project?
One 20kg bag will cover approximately 5m² on floors or 10m² on walls, depending on tile size, surface condition and trowel used. For uneven backgrounds or large format tiles, allow for increased usage. Always use a solid bed trowel for floor tiling, wet areas and outdoor installations to ensure proper coverage.
